For many seasons, we’ve worked with Nike’s gift card team to create cards for various holidays and gifting occasions. This seasonal project always presents an opportunity to push our creativity, as we work within a gift card’s very limited size and shape. (Agency — Makelike Design)
In Summer 2022, we were tasked with creating gift cards that could be used beyond the season. We went back to the basics of sport and mark-making to deliver cards that were bold and captured the spirit of play in a sophisticated way. During the design process, we kept coming back to shapes that define sport, while also thinking about the movement that accompanies it. The below court pattern was created as a kind of marriage of the organized court layout and the motion of sport. For the cards, we cropped into the pattern for a more abstract and nuanced look and feel.
